ICT Policies
Philosophy of ICT at Holmwood
Our aim at Holmwood is to enable pupils to develop the elements of ICT which will essentially be useful to them as they progress on to senior school and beyond. In schools across the country, we are at a crossroads with ICT; an explosion of technology, opprtunities to re-think how we approach many aspects of our learning and a challenge to steer a course which will place our pupils in a strong position for the future.
Educational Aims and Philosophy of the Department
Our aim is for children to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to use ICT as a tool for learning and living.
This will include correct and efficient use of the computer and an understanding and ability to use a range of software and peripherals.
The Department aims to develop and facilitate cross-curricular application of ICT skills to ensure pupils apply their ICT capability to support their use of language and communication and their learning in other areas.
