Girls' Hockey - U13 1st VII vs Ipswich High School

Final Score : Lost 5-1

A tough game to start the term but an excellent eye opener for the girls which hopefully showed them the standard of hockey to which they should aspire. The first half was closer than the score showed with Ipswich only scoring towards the end of the half when defensively we made mistakes upon which they capitalised. The second half saw a more positive Holmwood side but it was only in the last minute that Maisy H crossed the ball for Kaela S to slot into the goal with great timing. It was great to score and all the girls tried extremely hard - we just need to grow 6 inches by next week!

Girls' Hockey - U13 2nd VII vs Ipswich High School

As this was the first game of the season, the girls were just getting know on another and still working our the best positions. We got off to a good start, tackling well and driving with the ball into the attack, however we were very muddled. Ipswich had more control and hit the ball well. Flora did very well defending her goal, making some very challenging saves. We had a changer around at half time which improved our positioning and our game but we fatigued and couldn't keep Ipswich at bay. We did have a few chances but couldn't find the back if the goal. The final score was 4-0 to Ipswich.
