Girls' Hockey - U13 A vs OBH

Score: Lost 5-1
Despite the score line this was a much better game than the previous with stronger passing and more scoring opportunities. Again we were slow at getting in to the game and although Charlotte H made endless great saves in goal the score at half time was 4-0 to OBH. The second half was like a different game with Misha B and Tammi E defending brilliantly and Maisy H making thye most of an opportunity to score from the top of the circle. 1-1 in the second half was a great result and I was proud of all the girls for the resilience they showed throughout.

Girls' Hockey - U13 B vs OBH

A great performance by the entire team. In training we had worked on marking and striking the ball, which really did pay off. Our formation, a little messy at first, became solid and all players maintained their positions. This created many opportunities for us to attack in the D. Jasmine W opened the scoring with a great run down the right side and a clean, forceful strike put the ball in the back of the goal. Our second was a brilliantly executed hit by Henrietta C and then our third was from another hit by Jasmine W from the right of the D into the far left corner of the goal. Our defence, even though solid throughout made a mistake and OBH took advantage and scored. At half time we led 3-1.

The second half was harder as we were tiring and OBH once again seized the opportunity and scored. The final goal by Henrietta C came just before the final whistle. Lucy B made a last minute fantastic strike at goal, only to be saved by the OBH goalie.

The final score was 4-2 to Holmwood. Every single player showed resilience, commitment and improvement. Well done !
