Girls' Hockey - U13 OBH 7s Hockey Tournament

This was a very busy afternoon of hockey with 6 games of 12 minutes. Our first game against South Lee was closely fought and only a minor blip in defence allowed them the winning goal. Next we played Finborough and the girls all played with confidence with Hollie DR scoring and our first win of the term! - it felt so good! Another close game against Moreton hall finished 1-1 with Hollie scoring again in a very evenly matched game. We were unlucky against Barnardiston Hall and had several opportunities to score but failed to convert and allowed them to sneak one in just before the end. Having only lost by margins it was a bit of a shock to face the overall winners, St.Johns, who managed to score six very impressive goals despite CharlotteH's brave saves in goal and some excellent tackles from Captain, Misha B. By now the girls were very tired but bravely faced OBH, who they lost to earlier in the week. It was a much closer game and at times we had the upper hand but were unable to find the target. The final score was 1-0 to OBH which was no disappointment.

Overall we came 5th out of the seven teams which, considering the age and size difference, was an excellent achievement. Most importantly the girls behaved impeccably and were a pleasure to coach.
