Girls' Hockey - U13 1st VII vs Moreton Hall

Score: Won 4-1

Finally we found the goal! An early goal from Kaela S breathed new life into the team and the girls played within renewed confidence, putting  into practice all the skills we had learned in training. Hollie DR scored before half time and again at the end and Maisie H scraped another off the post. Moreton Hall scored once but it was a comfortable win for a jubilant team and coach!

Girls' Hockey - U13 2nd VII vs Moreton Hall

This was such an exciting game, very evenly matched. From the off, Holmwood attacked but just could not find the back of the goal. Unfortunately, Moreton Hall scored first, with a decent high strike at goal, and even though Flora D did everything right to block the shot, it unfortunately  deflected off her helmet into the goal!

Holmwood did not give up and equalised before half time. The second half reflected the first, with great attacking play from both sides. It was great to see the girls implement set plays and skills we had practised all week. An error in defence allowed Moreton Hall to take the lead.  However, in the final minute, Olivia F took a pass just outside the D, dribbled forward and made a strike at goal. It catapulted past the goalie into the bottom left far corner. The loud sound heard as the ball smashed against the back board was a very pleasant sound to the Holmwood Team.
A draw of 2-2 was really the fairest result. A great performance by all.
