Girls' Hockey U13 1st VII vs Finborough

Holmwood 3 Finborough 0

Another fantastic game showing improved passing and overall support both on and off the ball. The first ten minutes were closely fought but the rapid succession of goals from Maisie H, Kaela S and Hollie DR gave Holmwood a boost and put Finborough on the back foot. With a comfortable lead we were able to move players around and provide the opportunity for some of the players to have more game time than they usually get. All the girls responded well to trying new positions and, although we did not score again, Charlotte H in goal had very little to do. A great overall team performance.

Girls' Hockey U13 2nd VII vs Finborough

This was the best game of the season by far. From the off, we dominated the play, with great attacking plays from the forwards. For the first time this season the girls looked confident on the ball, taking on players and then at the correct time, executing the correct pass. This created space and time to make effective attacks. However we found it hard to make that final strike at goal. It wasn't until near the end of the first half, Jasmine W found the back of the goal from a brilliant cross from Henrietta C.

Finborough went onto equalise due to a defensive error. That did deter the girls from pushing forward and once again they dominated the second half. There were lots of missed chances but eventually Holmwood scored and won 2-1. A well deserved win. Well done girls!
