Rugby U11A vs Ipswich Prep

Having met once before this season both teams were keen to have the upper hand from the first whistle. Holmwood came out of the starting blocks with pace after a good warm up. They quickly managed to convert their pressure into points and were soon 10-0 up.
Ipswich regained possession and after a couple of missed tackles scored two tries in similar fashion.

Holmwood were strangely placid at half time, no one was able to identify that they were playing well. Once the second half started Holmwood soon found themselves having to make some try saving tackles. The pressure and power of these tackles gained turnover ball for Holmwood and they moved the ball through the hands very well. Ipswich were rewarded with a late try.

The spirit of the game was excellent and both teams played with great enthusiasm until the end. Holmwood made intelligent decisions regarding their commitment to the rucks and whilst running in open play the ball moved seamlessly through the hands.
Well done to all the boys.

Final score : Holmwood 35 - 15 Ipswich
