Girls' Hockey U11 A vs Orwell Park

Lost 2-0
The girls played well against a good team! Martha had her first game in defence and coped well with the ongoing attack from Orwell! Emily made some fantastic saves and was sold in goal! All the girls played well however they did not have the 'zing' I have seen in them in previous matches. They have had their last two matches on grass so the jump to a wet Astro may have explained this! Saying this there where some amazing moments with the girls really pulling together and have several shots on goal. Well done girls was a nice match to umpire!

Girls' Hockey U11 B vs Orwell Park

Holmwood started well with a goal from Sophie D and another from Davina M but were unable to keep their lead due to poor marking in defence and inaccurate passing up front. Georgia P made numerous saves in goal and Pearl P should be commended for her resilience on the pitch. A slightly disappointing result after such a promising start.

Girls' Hockey U11 C vs Orwell Park

Score: 5 - 3 (lose)

The U11C team had a harder game to play today as their field was astro and about half the size of the Holmwood Hockey fields. Throughout the match, their confidence in themselves and their teammates grew stronger as they were playing their positions much better as they were not switched around often. In the first quarter Julia K shot an excellent goal, hitting the post and then going in. Anna P also scored a close goal in the second quarter. In the 3rd quarter Hannah L scored a goal straight off the pass back from the center half. By the end of the 3rd quarter it was 3-3. The girls ran back onto the field with fierce determination to win, they played an excellent last 10 mins, however Orwell Park managed to score 2 late goals taking them into the lead with a final score of 5-3.
