Girls' Hockey U13 1st VII vs Orwell Park

Taking on the winners of the IAPS tournament where we cam last was always going to be a tall order! As usual the girls gave absolutely everything and, although the chances on goal were few and far between, there were moments of excitement with Freya J making some storming runs up the wing and Alara H facing the defence in one on one situations. Charlotte H,in goal, certainly had the most to do and probably managed to save 50% of the shots fired at her. Orwell were by far the stronger team but it was a great experience for the Holmwood girls to see how great  hockey can be played.

Girls' Hockey U13 2nd VII vs Orwell Park

This was a tough match and the girls found in difficult to deal with a very skilful side. To their credit they did not allow their heads to drop and did everything within their capability to score. Flora played exceptionally well and was under relentless attack from the Orwell attack .She made some amazing saves. The girls played much better in the second half with Henrietta making some great runs down the right side with dome spectacular crosses but unfortunately the other forwards couldn't make contact to score.
Orwell had a convincing win , but the girls should be proud of their resilience and support for one another.
