Girls' Hockey U13 1st VII vs RHS

LOST 6-0

A much closer game than the score line would lead you to believe. RHS were much stronger than us in the first half and were 4-0 up at half time. The second half was a completely different game with several scoring opportunities which we failed to convert. Tammy E made some strong attacking runs from defence and Charlotte H, in goal, managed to keep the score to 2-0. This was not one of our best performances but as usual the girls battled until the very end.

Girls' Hockey U13 2nd VII vs RHS

RHS fielded a strong side, but for the first 10mins, Holmwood were able to keep them at bay. However, a couple of strong attacks and great shots at our Goal, the inevitable happened and they took a 3 goal lead. Our girls allowed their heads to drop and lacked determination and drive. However, after reflecting on their first half performance at half time, they came out with a completely different attitude. One of determination. H Came made some great runs down the right side, executing a great crosses. Unfortunately  J Williamson, who was in a great position, just could not make contact . There were a number of this style of attacks and the girls tried heir hardest to score. Flora D had an amazing game. She was under immense pressure and made some great saves.

RHS went on to score a couple more and won the match. The girls were upbeat and proud of the turn around of their play and even though they didn't achieve the desired result, they knew they had given their all. Well done !
