Girls' Hockey - U13 1st VII Essex Championships at Redbridge

After a disastrous journey of over 2 hours we eventually arrived with ten minutes to spare before our second match (having unfortunately had to concede our first game to the A12). After a rushed warm up the girls did really well to secure a 1-1 draw thanks to a fantastic edge of the D shot from Maisy H.

Next we faced Brentwood who were three times bigger than most of our players. A superb short corner strike from Hollie DR enabled us to get another 1-1 draw.

Finally we had a chance to enjoy ourselves against the weaker team of Caterham and felt the thrill of finding the goal again and again - 5 goals in 12 minutes! A hat trick  for Kaela S and two more for Hollie DR.

This meant that we finished third in our group and went through to play the third placed team in the other group, Bancrofts. They had a one very talented player who ran rings around us but Charlotte H made many amazing saves to keep the score to 2-0. Our final position was 4th out of 10 which was a commendable effort. All the girls worked their socks off and were as usual delightful company and a credit to the school.
