Girls' Hockey - U13 1st VII vs Felsted

Won 5-0

The longest match day ever! Due to having significantly more teams than us, Felsted kindly agreed to field their second team against our firsts but if I had known how well we would play it might have been fun ton take on their firsts! Kaela S opened the scoring as Holmwood dominated Felsted's defending end with Maisy H adding another one of her, edge of the circle, powerful strikes. Tammy E took her first short corner and struck the ball cleanly to make it 3-0 at half time. It was a rare situation for us to be in to have to try not to score too many but we didn't want Felsted to regret their choice of team against us. We decided that only those who had not scored this term were allowed to do so and this led to some superb passing and support play with both Alara H and Phoebe R-L adding to the score.

A  well deserved result and some really good hockey which almost made the 5 hour journey home bearable!

Girls' Hockey - U13 2nd VII vs Felsted

This was a great performance by all the girls. All of the skills they had been practicing during the week were implemented. Holmwood took a two goal lead in the first half, both goals scored by Jasmine Williamson in the far left corner, tapping in twice, two excellent crosses from Henrietta Came. The girls continued to pile on the pressure and had numerous shots at goal during the second half. Olivia Ford made some fantastic, powerful runs from defence and nearly scored three or four times from penalty short corners. The final score remained at two nil to Holmwood. This was the best performance of the season. Well done!
