Soccer - U11 B vs The Abbey

The cold winter wind was blowing across the pitch. The players had to keep moving in order to have any chance to stay warm. The ball was flying about from end to end. Sometimes it was dribbled, more often than not it was passed. The tackling was mostly good from both teams, and the defenders played a similar tactic ‘if in doubt - get it out’. In the second half Holmwood played up the hill. This did not benefit them at all, in fact they soon realised that they had not used the hill to their advantage enough in the first half. Despite Toby F nearly kicking the skin off the ball as he powered his shot home and Jack E hitting the back of the net from the penalty spot, it was not going to be enough. The home team knew the benefit of the slope.

Final score:  Holmwood 2 - 6 The Abbey
