Swimming Gala U9, U11 & U13 vs Framlingham Prep

Swimming against a Framlingham Prep 'A' and 'B' squad as well as Moreton Hall, all the swimmers showed their dedication to the sport from the first race to the last and 39th race!

The event got off to a challenging start with the 4 x 20m Individual Medley with Alexandra B-C and Oliver J competing admirably for us and placing well.

The backstroke races were next on the programme with Archie L getting us off to an excellent start with a win in the U9 Boys event. Alexandra B-C was not to be outdone for the U11 Girls, also touching first, and it was a strong second place finish for Zeke L for the U13 Boys.

Moving on to the breaststroke races we proved just how strong we are at this stroke; Sophie H touched first with a very strong swim for the U9 Girls, and it was a close second place finish for Year 3 Jamie S in the U9 Boys event as well as Imogen J for the U10 Girls. Theo L'E swam brilliantly covering the 40 metres to finish first and it was a second for Daniel R-P for the U13 Boys.

Our freestylers also more than proved themselves with firsts for Martha H (U9 Girls), George H (U9 Boys) and Henry D (U11 Boys).

Our butterfly swimmers were not to be outdone either; first place for Sophie H (U9 Girls), and second place finishes for Anna B (U10 Girls), Alexandra B-C (swimming up for U13 Girls) and Oliver J (U13 Boys).

The fixture then moved on to the Relay events and the U9s proved unstoppable with both the Boys and Girls finishing first. The U11 Boys were also up to the strong challenge from the opposition and also came home first, with the U13 Boys in second.

It was an extremely close second place finish for the U9 Girls in the Medley Relay and they were certainly encouraged by our many supporters on the balcony! The U11 Girls and Boys also swam strongly to both finish second, but the U13 Boys decided to show everyone how it's done coming home in first!

The final event on the programme, the Canon Relay, required one boy and one girl to compete for each of the three age groupings, and we finished the night with a second place.

Final scores:

First place - Framlingham Prep 'A' - 123 points
Second place - Holmwood House - 108 points
Third place - Moreton Hall - 94 points
Fourth place - Framlingham Prep 'B' - 60 points
