Boys’ Hockey - 1st VII National In-2-Hockey Essex Championships

The boys had a great day of hockey at Redbridge, playing 92 minutes of hockey with very little recovery time between matches. Firstly they took on Chigwell A team and held them to a respectable 0-0 draw before losing 1-0 to a skillful team from Bancroft. Another 0-0 draw against Forest and then it was time for some fun! Beating Harwich and Dovercourt 6-0 was just the lift they needed with nearly every member of the team scoring.

Another easy 5-0 win against Caterham with Robin W scoring a hat trick and a 1-0 win against Chigwell B. Then it was back to reality with a hard bump as we took on the 2 strongest teams. The boys did well to hold Felsted off to a 4-0 loss with AJ making numerous amazing saves and then against Cooper Coborn the tiredness set in and mistakes began to happen resulting in a disappointing 4-0 defeat.

Overall we came a creditable 5th out of the 9 teams and I was incredibly proud of the way the boys conducted themselves, both on and off the pitch.
