Rugby - U9A VII vs St Cedds

Barbers piece was in top condition. A combination of the recent rain and hard work from Jamie the groundsman has made some fantastic pitches. For most of the boys this was the first competitive, contact match. They soon came together as a team, especially in defence where they must be commended for their pride and passion in the tackle zone. Holmwoods attack has had a lot of time spent on it in training, however in front of a ‘live’ team the boys need to learn how to make time on the ball and not to rush decisions. Too many times the boys got close to the line and then a tackle was made only for the supporting runner to aim straight back at contact.

That being said the positives far outweigh the negatives and the game was only decided by two break away runs.

Final score: Holmwood 20 - 30 St Cedds.
