Soccer - U11 A VIIs vs Elm Green

Holmwood's fourth match of term was against Elm Green.  Both teams looked to pass the ball and a good game of football ensued. Elm Green took the lead but a fine left football finish from Harry O across the keeper into the far corner pulled Holmwood level. Unfortunately Holmwood could not hang onto the lead  when William T and Sam F were outnumbered and could not prevent Elm Green from taking the lead.

Half Time:  Holmwood 1 Elm Green 2

The second half saw Elm Green extend there lead. Holmwood continued to push forward and a long range effort from Henry D sailed over the head of the Elm Green keeper into the top corner to reduce Elm Green's lead. Holmwood continued to push but could not find an equaliser.

Final Score Holmwood 2 Elm Green 3

Soccer - U11 B VIIs vs Elm Green

Final Score: 1-1

A tenacious game between two very even and hard working teams resulted in a draw.

Elm Green dominated the early stages of possession but it was Holmwood who created the better chances and from one of these the slick passing enabled Angus M to slot past the advancing keeper and at half time Holmwood led 1-0.  Britton F and Harry were managing to deny Elm Green many opportunities and when they were created, Oscar C made some splendid saves. The game swung from end to end until Elm Green broke to equalise.

The final few minutes saw fewer chances created and a draw was a very fair result.  Well played to both teams.
