Boys' Hockey - U13 1st VII IAPS Tournament

A very wet morning with moments of brilliance mixed with unfortunate errors. Our first game against Chigwell went even better than expected with strong passing allowing Zeke L to slot home two goals. Next we played New College, from Oxfordshire, and definitely had the advantage in speed and skill but despite several attempts were unable to score. A last minute defending error allowed them the one goal they needed. A close game against Taverham Hall was culminated with a well judged goal from Zeke and a well deserved win against a strong team. By the time we played Orwell the boys were soaked through and beginning to lose focus and despite some strong attacks and improved marking in defence, Orwell were able to slip 3 goals past us.

Overall this put us 3rd in our section but, due to weather conditions, a decision to cancel the plate competition had been made so our hockey was over for the day. We returned slightly disheartened but glad to be back indoors!
