Boys' Hockey - U13 2nd VII vs New Hall

Lost 4-2

Holmwood were very slow to get into the game and made several defensive errors allowing Newhall to score early on but the second half saw a much more positive side and goals from Charlie A and James N gave them a much needed boost. Peter M played well in goal and Rob W and Daniel RP worked really well in defence.

Boys' Hockey - U13 3rd VII vs New Hall

Lost 4-1

On a cold wet day at New Hall the 3rd VII took on New Hall's 2nd VII and lost 4-1.  In the first half Holmwood fought hard against a team who were faster and more skillful.  The accuracy of our passing let us down and the speed of their play and skill on the ball meant it was hard to maintain possession.  That said, we had our moments to score but seemed unable to penetrate the goalkeeper, apart from Oscar C who managed to get it through.

Oliver J was good in goal and Charley G (captain) and Tom C were fairly solid in defense, clearing the ball well and putting in some crucial tackles. Gus P, Thomas L, Jamie K and Takura M-D all tried hard in the mid-field and were run off their feet by the end. Lance L-R played fairly well when attacking. Overall a good, all round learning curve against a better opposition. A good effort.

Boys' Hockey - U13 4th VII vs New Hall

Lost 4-1

On a cold wet day at New Hall the 4th VII took on New Halls 3rd VII and lost 4-1.  The first half Holmwood were fighting hard and managed to match New Hall's skill level.  However New Hall took the game away from Holmwood with quicker passing, speed and skill.  Ethan W set up Matthew J very well for the goal in the first half and Holmwood had a fair few chances but were unable to capitalise.  Jack G, George S and Dominic T all worked well together at the back and Max G, Elliot W and Max D all worked hard in mid-field.  A good learning curve against a better opposition.

Boys' Hockey - U13 5th VII vs New Hall

Lost 2-0

This was a great team effort in what was the first ever game for some of the boys. Tom P was a natural in goal and Will D played his defensive role with calm maturity. Harvey F made several runs on goal but narrowly missed the target and George S worked his socks off in midfield.
