Hockey - U13 1st VII vs RHS

Won 4-2

Finally a win! The boys played a superb game with great team work covering the few and far between mistakes. Hamish I scored early but RHS were quick to equalise and it felt as though the momentum had suddenly slowed. Superb running from defence by Matt B and strong individual play from Hamish put us up to 3-1 by half time and although RHS clawed the game back to 2-3 but the icing on the cake came from yet another goal from Hamish to give us a comfortable 4-2 win. A thoroughly well deserved result for the whole team.

Hockey - U13 2nd VII vs RHS

Lost 3-2

A very close end to end game which started well with James N executing a well timed flick into the top corner but RHS were quick to equalise. A superb run from defence and well timed passes from Oscar D and James N allowed Charlie A to slip the ball past the keeper to put us up 2-1 at half time. Maybe the boys relaxed too soon but RHS managed to score 2 more in the second half despite some superb goal keeping from Peter M. It was a shame to lose but the overall play was so much better than previous weeks that I was pleased with the outcome and proud of every member of the team.

Hockey - U13 3rd VII vs RHS

Lost 2-5

Holmwood's Year 8s had a fantastic first half and the score was 2-2 at half-time.  A few mistakes in the second half and the score ended 5-2.  Oliver J was amazing in goal and saved many accurate shots.  Oscar C and Lance L-R scored the goals for Holmwood and the rest of the team tried exceptionally hard throughout.  A good learning curve for all involved.  Well played!

Hockey - U13 4th VII vs RHS

Won 1-0

Holmwood had a fabulous game. They all defended well and attacked well together.  The final score of 1-0 is a reflection of the hard work involved throughout.  Oliver R was fantastic in goal and saved many accurate shots.  Elliot W, Dominic T, Jack G and Will D all worked hard in defense and managed to foil plenty of attacking opportunities from RHS.  Ethan W, Max G, George S and Max D each had their opportunities and Max D took his with great effect, scoring from 10 yards out with a spectacular smash into the back board.  A great learning curve for the whole team and success at last!  Well done for the term.
