Rugby U9 A VII vs Orwell Park

The conditions were perfect for a quality game of rugby. At kick off Orwell were in possession and took the ball forward well. Holmwoods defence was strong and the tackles were low and hard. Holmwood took the ball on reasonably in the first half and when players decided to take a straight line, yards were made.

The second half Orwell were more direct in their running lines and it was only due to some excellent last ditch tackles and determination that the ball was recovered in defence.

At the end of the game both coaches and comments from parents were that Holmwood were dominant, however it was only a few mistakes and not taking every opportunity in attack that led to the final score.

Final score: Holmwood 20 - 20 Orwell Park

Rugby U9 B VII vs Orwell Park

The boys took to the field with lots of determination and focus after this weeks training sessions.  The focus had been supporting lines and tackle technique.

Holmwood did a fantastic job of implementing all they had been working on.  This allowed Holmwood to take an early lead, which they managed to hold on to throughout the match.  Many team trys scored by Holmwood and some good line speed in defence saw Holmwood victorious. 9 trys to 7.  Well done.
