Rugby - U11 A IX vs St Cedd's

The ground on Barbers Piece was hard and the sun was shining. The game was very open and the ball was being passed around the pitch very well by both teams. St Cedds played some good attacking rugby and they were running straight lines very effectively.

Holmwoods tackling in the first half was not up to the standard that they have demonstrated recently. Holmwood discussed the strengths and weaknesses at halftime and they decided that they would take the second half to the opposition. They said the body position in the tackle must be kept low and that they must aim for the runner's legs.

This led to a large change in performance and in the second half Holmwood played some fantastic spells of rugby.

Well done to the Holmwood players for demonstrating a strong sense of commitment all the way to the end of the game!

Final score: Holmwood 5 - 40 St Cedds
