u9 win tournament!

Cricket - U9 Tournament at Orwell Park (A),
Saturday 19 May 2012

The tournament consisted of 5 teams playing a round robin system with 6 overs per innings. Holmwood's first match was against Orwell Park and, after posting a score of 161runs, Holmwood restricted Orwell Park to under 100 with some deadly bowling.

Our next match was against Ipswich Prep who bowled very well and restricted Holmwood to 147.  Holmwood knew they were going to have to bowl well and indeed they did.  Ipswich struggled to hit our accurate bowls and finished on 139 runs.

Our next opponents were The Abbey.  Holmwood managed to post a great score of 164 and then again, with some accurate bowling, the boys restricted The Abbey to 100 runs.

Our final match was against Littlegarth, a team we played during the week, so we knew we were going to be up against a strong side.  Holmwood batted very intelligently and posted a challenging total of 160.  Our bowlers and fielders then restricted Littlegarth to 140 to win the tournament.
