Pre-Prep Community Event 2017

On Tuesday the Pre-Prep hosted a brand new event. Invitations were sent out to the local community and the wider school community inviting them to attend a morning of Christmas entertainment and festive refreshments. All the children contributed decorations they had made in class and the Talbot Room was transformed into a party venue. The Year 3 pupils all had different jobs from taking coats and handing out programmes, to serving the refreshments, taking drinks orders and also chatting with the visitors. From the word go there was a festive atmosphere with Mr Snell playing seasonal songs, the smell of freshly cut greenery and the Year 2 Christingles. The Rs and Year 1s set the proceedings off with some delightful singing and the morning ended with the Year 2s and Year 3s entertaining the audience with songs jokes and dancing. The morning was a huge success. The  children, as always, were the stars and the visitors found them charming. It looks like we have started a new Holmwood tradition and the visitors left agreeing to return next year and spread the word to others.
