Pre-reception Class

As part of our vision to create a seamless transition for our youngest children, we will introduce a pre-school class for 3-year-olds from September 2019.

Nestled within the school's beautiful 25-acre site, our Pre-Reception class will be housed in a newly refurbished Early Years Department. Click here to find out more about the refurbishment project which will be completed ahead of September 2019.

Children in Pre-Reception will be gently introduced to school life whilst establishing solid foundations, helping them to become confident, secure children ready to reach their potential.

We will follow a dynamic and exciting curriculum based on self-discovery and learning through play, and the children will enjoy lessons including French, music and movement, language and literacy. Close proximity to the main school building will enable the Pre-Reception children to use the school’s facilities including the sports areas, swimming pool and playing fields.

Visit Us

You would be warmly welcome to make an individual appointment to visit the school and meet the Headmaster. As an alternative, our next Open Morning will be in early October. Please email to find out more about a visit to the school.

A minimum of one school day or two morning sessions per week is required to enable children to feel settled. It is possible, of course, for a child to benefit from some time at both settings.

Wraparound Care

The morning session includes lunchtime.  Additional hours can be added through our wraparound care service:  Breakfast Club from 7.30am and Biscuit Club from 3.15pm until 6.15pm.

There will be no holiday provision at the school setting but parents may book their children into the Holiday Club sessions at our Nursery in Great Horkesley.

Early Education Funding

Under the Free Early Education Entitlement (FEEE) scheme, every eligible child is entitled to access up to 15 hours of Early Years education per week for up to 38 weeks per year (570 hours per annum). Fees for any additional hours will be charged at the same net termly rate as for non eligible children. Please note that the provision at the Holmwood House school setting is for 35 weeks per year.

We are currently confirming places for September 2019. Interested parents can complete our online form to register their interest.
