  • Friday 8 June 2018 Boarding News - Summer term week 7 This week the Year 8s had a fantastic time playing Foot Golf at Colchester Play Golf.
  • Friday 8 June 2018 Pupil News - Horseriding The Holmwood Equestrian Team spent the first weekend of half term competing for our school at the National Schools Championships at Hickstead. They had qualified earlier in the year for two separate events - an achievement in itself beating many other well known schools in the region (e.g. Felsted & New Hall) - and were now competing against schools from Wales, Scotland, Yorkshire and Somerset.

  • Tuesday 1 May 2018 Science Week - Pre-Prep n Pre-Prep Science Week we have been busy! As well as working in the classroom with science, the whole of Pre-Prep has had some guests. We had a visit from the Fire and Ambulance services.
  • Friday 27 April 2018 Pre-Prep Lego Workshop On Thursday all of Pre-Prep had the opportunity to take part in a Lego workshop. The Jubilee Hall was transformed into a Lego city.

  • Friday 23 March 2018 Boarding News - Spring term week 10 On Wednesday evening, the Year 8 Boarders enjoyed a Murder Mystery Evening as part of a national 'Whodunnit' campaign in aid of MacMillan Cancer Care. The scene was a cruise ship in the 1920s and the ships' doctor had been murdered. Each of the Year 8s was assigned a character and there was much dressing up and getting into role.
  • Friday 23 March 2018 Year 1 - Let's Go To The Arctic Year 1 have had an exciting term exploring our new Geography topic, 'Let's go to the Arctic'. The children have been immersed in all sorts of activities and have thoroughly enjoyed finding out about this amazing part of the world.
  • Friday 23 March 2018 Year 1 - STEM Activities On Monday Year 1 took part in a series of STEM activities. We worked in small groups. The task was to test a set of materials to find one that would be suitable for a sandpit cover that would both block out the sun and be waterproof. In addition we had to use our maths skills to find the area of a square, long narrow rectangle and short wide rectangle.
  • Friday 23 March 2018 Science As part of their topic on space our Year 4 pupils were treated to a very special talk from Mr John Vickers. He had a high altitude pressure suit on loan from the National Space Centre in Leicester and was keen to share the exhibit with our students.
