  • Monday 13 November 2017 Boarding News - Week 8 Autumn Term The girls in boarding love to decorate their rooms with pictures and posters. It gives the rooms such a homely feel and the girls enjoy the feeling that this is 'their' space for the nights that they board.

  • Friday 20 October 2017 Boarding News - Week 7 Autumn Term On Monday, Hallowe'en came to the boarding house. There were some pretty scary looking and shadowy characters around!

  • Friday 20 October 2017 History This week, in Year 6 History, we have been re-enacting the brutal murder of Thomas Beckett. In our lessons we have travelled to Canterbury Cathedral (the Talbot Room) to take up our roles as knights, monks, kings and, of course, the doomed archbishop. The dramatic death scenes have been hysterical yet serious.
  • Friday 20 October 2017 Geography In the geography department, we like to encourage pupils to investigate a topic that takes their interest and to present findings to the rest of their classmates. Not only does this help to build confidence but ?geography presenters? can expect to receive at least one star for their efforts.

  • Tuesday 17 October 2017 Year 6 Rain Forest Competition As part of their work on ‘Global Environments’ pupils in Year 6 have been taking part in a competition on Tropical Rainforests. Their brief was to produce a piece of work which conveyed the beauty and importance of the World’s tropical rainforests whilst also considering the threats and possible solutions to the destruction of the rainforests.
  • Tuesday 10 October 2017 Choral Day at King's School, Canterbury Last Thursday, some Year 6 pupils were invited to attend a Choral Day at the King’s School, Canterbury. After a morning rehearsing and following a lovely lunch at St Augustine’s Abbey, we had our final practice in preparation for the concert in the cathedral. Children from different Prep schools across England had the privilege of singing in the most impressive atmosphere accompanied by the King’s Chamber and Crypt Choirs and conducted by the Director of Music, Mr Bersey.

  • Monday 25 September 2017 Boarding News - Week 3 Autumn term The boarders worked hard last week to make cakes for the Macmillan coffee morning and on Wednesday the Year 8 Boarders had their first trip of the year. We went to the park, which was infinitely more fun than it might sound at first! The children had a wonderful time - as did the staff! Following on from the boarding surveys last term, we have looked carefully at the ideas and suggestions and have made the following adjustments in the boarding house. Please keep your ideas coming!
  • Monday 25 September 2017 Macmillan Coffee Morning Thank you to everyone who attended and donated so generously and to the bakers who produced some delicious treats. We raised a record breaking £460.02.

  • Thursday 15 June 2017 HH General Election 2017 The Prep School returned from the half-term break to election madness. All Prep School children had learned about the election, party politics and policies in PSHCE Citizenship lessons before half-term with Year 7s and 8s also learning about left and right wing ideology and different voting systems.
  • Thursday 15 June 2017 Year 2 VE Day Celebrations What a super day Year 2 had just before half term! To finish their history topic on World War 2 they celebrated the end of the war in true VE Day style. Dressed as evacuees, they made gas mask boxes and baked carrot biscuits from a wartime rationing recipe.
